Review on DirtyPCBs.com
Nice write-up on DirtyPCBs.com, a site that will turn out 2 layer PCB boards pretty cheaply. The review is rather positive too. http://rabid-inventor.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/dirty-circuits-done-dirt-cheap.html

VIPER, Python for embedded systems
YEAH!!! I love python, and being an embedded systems dev, this is good news. HOWEVER, its GPLv3, so if you plan to make commercial use of this, you could be SOL. http://www.open-electronics.org/viper-python-iot-design-suite-is-now-available/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+OpenElectronics+%28Open+Electronics%29

Unique business cards
Interesting article about some different business cards out there. I like the end where they list out how you could get a card like the demo’ed ones. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/best-places-learn-swift-apples-programming-language/ Possible sites for custom cards: http://us.moo.com/ http://gotprint.net/g/welcome.do http://www.jukeboxprint.com/

Using a small 3D printer to build a big one
I like this write-up. Basically the author took the concepts of a rep-rap to heart. My 2 cents, I would just use purchased bar slides instead of printing them out. God must have take over a day per side to … Continue reading

Make light up flowers with old water bottles
I love this build (will be doing this one soon). Basically you use the top to make the flower and the cap can be used to mount to a christmas tree light. In theory, you could still return the bottle … Continue reading

Xerox Cracking down on Theft
Looks like Xerox has been catching its resellers and employees with there hands in the cookie jar. To the tune of $3 million. Note that this involved lower level folks, not upper management. http://graphicartsmag.com/news/2015/05/xerox-pursues-legal-action-in-response-to-thefts-of-supplies-in-the-united-states/ update here http://www.twst.com/update/110967-xerox-corporation-xerox-protects-customers-pursues-legal-actions-in-response-to-supplies-thefts

Call for a new CEO at Xerox
Article goes on that basically Xerox hasn’t seen any recovery since the current CEO took over. So thus a call for a new one. I am leaning that way myself. A few years are OK to give a CEO a … Continue reading

Build your own PVC based Rubberband Machine Gun
I remember a kickstarter project to build a wooden version of this. This is much cheaper solution thought. Maybe $20 in materials. This could be a fun project to build with kids, and I see a few spots where we … Continue reading

Using an LED to detect RF signals
OK this is a first for me. The author uses an ATiny with an LED to detect RF, Radio Frequency, signals. http://hackaday.com/2015/04/26/using-an-led-as-a-simple-rf-detector/
