Google adds CoreOS
I have not heard of CoreOS (Linux distro) til now. It looks interesting. Its a lightweight Linux distro that sounds like its built for app development and cloud based systems. Its on my download list to try out. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/05/23/google_loads_coreos_onto_its_cloud/
4 ways to get diskspace back in Linux
Good article, thought very “Ubuntu” centric. I did learn one thing from it, you should run bleachbit as root to get rid of copies of packages. http://www.howtogeek.com/185173/4-ways-to-free-up-disk-space-on-linux/

Interesting hack for Netflix on Linux
Netflix uses Microsofts Silverlight tech to stream movies, which means no linux support except….there is a software package (setup described in the article) called pipelight, which will do the job with some tweaks. I wonder if there is an XBMC … Continue reading

Programming an arduino via Ubuntu
Write-up on how to use the arduino from Linux (basically). Its pretty simple now. My 2 cents, I am trying to convert over to eclipse which offers much more power for programming. But its not going so well. The author … Continue reading
Tools to recover data in Linux
Good article on recovering data with linux from a drive. The one that caught my eye was testdisk to “test” a disk. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/the-best-ways-to-recover-data-on-linux/

IBM ovvers $1bn for Linux development on Power
Power is one of IBM’s CPU chips that sounds like it comes from its old mainframe groups, just brought down to be more low-end based. First time I have heard of this stuff. Will be interesting to see how well … Continue reading
A Comprehensive Comparison of Linux Development Boards | Open Electronics
Nice review of several boards for linux development at a lower cost and footprint. The one thing the author forgot in the article (and SHOULD HAVE PUT IN IT) is the cost of each system. He did a great job … Continue reading
