Wow, MS Windows 8.1 native 3D printing
Given its only with Makerbot, its still a big move. And a sign that perhaps 3D printing will be here to stay. http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130626-microsoft-adds-3d-printing-support-to-windows-3d-printers-soon-in-ms-stores.html

A simple Solar Charger with altoids tins

Have a 3D printer, may an Eggbot
OK I now need to get my 3D printer working again. Well at least before easter so I can build this. I have all the parts and this would avoid having to buy a kit. 🙂 http://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Arduino-Controlled-EggbotSpherepot/

Cool windmill/water pump build with junk parts
I like this build, not so sure why screws in the pipe, but its nice simple build that you could do with kids for fun and does something visible (pumps water). http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Wind-Powered-Water-Pump/

A simpler build for a homemade lathe
I haven’t needed a lathe yet, but its on one of my radars for tools that I would get if price was right (ie free). Or you could build your own like this gent did. Seems like a simple enough … Continue reading
Make a simple CNC with scraps?
Bit of an old write-up, but still a nice read where the author took scanner parts, and some leftovers and made a nice simple CNC from it. http://www.instructables.com/id/20-CNC-Machine/

Planter stand from an old rim and wood
I like this build, the author basically took an old car wheel rim, and glued scrape boards to it. It looks pretty nice. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-build-a-planter-stand-from-scrap-wood-an-/?ALLSTEPS
