CEO of Xerox thinks we are on the verge
Of women taking leadership roles. I think there is a point here, but I don’t see it being a “tital wave” coming. I think it will be more gradual over the years. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/13/ursula-burns-women-leaders_n_3437382.html

More Warm and Fuzzy articles on Xerox
Lots of warm and fuzzy articles that Xerox is on the cliff for going up in stock. Mostly due to its healthcare service arm (Think Obamacare). http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2013/jun/16/bright-future-puts-xerox-atop-watch-list/ http://www.dailyfinance.com/2013/06/07/why-xerox-is-poised-to-keep-climbing/

Xerox hiring 90 folks, including Engineers
Wow this isn’t services stuff…well kindof is. The Xerox division in Ireland is hiring folks for “print services” including R&D budget. This has to be a first since R&D is constantly being cut in Xerox. http://www.irishtimes.com/business/sectors/retail-and-services/xerox-printing-firm-ibs-adds-90-jobs-1.1430939

IBM laying off A BILLION dollars worth of people.
Wow, how the mighty have fallen. The good news is its worldwide (not just US/Canada), bad news, they are letting go hundreds here anyways (look out NC, your un-employment is about to go up). http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/06/13/ibm_layoffs_us_canada/

How to easily and cheaply transfer labels to plating
I like this one, basically the author prints out the text backwards with a laser printer, then uses acetone or nail polish remover to transfer it. http://www.instructables.com/id/An-easy-way-to-create-professional-looking-labeled/?ALLSTEPS
Web Enabled Cannon controlled with Arduino
This think looks scary. Its basically a potato cannon with a remote trigger. I thought a first you could aim it too, but no such luck. http://www.instructables.com/id/WEB-ENABLED-BACKYARD-ARTILLERY/
Solar heater with soda cans
This maybe a good idea for a shed, as long as you can take it down for the summer (don’t need to heat the shed in the winter. Not so sure I would do this with my house thought. I … Continue reading
