How to keep your digital presence private
Nice article on tools out there you can use to help keep folks from spying on out. ONLY PROBLEM is some of the tools listed are a bit confusing to use, and both ends of the communication need to support … Continue reading

Use legos to build a 3D printer
The author put up directions on how to build it too. It is using a glue gun for the “material” and build. Funny but works. http://hackaday.com/2013/07/18/is-a-lego-3d-printer-by-definition-self-replicating/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29 http://www.instructables.com/id/LEGO-bot-3d-printer/

Xerox post 3rd quarter earnings of 6 cents
Gee at this rate Xerox might break over $10 a share. http://zolmax.com/xerox-corp-plans-quarterly-dividend-of-0-06-xrx/80963/

Good article about Vertical Slice testing over TDD
I like this article. I have always liked TDD, but at times its very difficult to use. The author goes on about it being better to test/automate a vertical slice. I’ll take this a step farther and say a “story” … Continue reading

Now us little people can fund startup’s
I can’t wait to see what new “kickstarter like” sites will start springing up for little people to fund a startup. I can see this going far if some of them allow small investments (think under 100 dollars). http://www.wired.com/business/2013/07/the-emerging-vc-machine/

Want a custom cookie cutter
Just make it with The Cookie Cutter Customizer, fire up your 3D printer, and go. 🙂 Its an app written by Makerbot and looks promising and easy to use. http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130713-makerbot-lets-you-draw-and-3d-print-custom-cookie-cutters.html

Put a hose in a bucket for storage
Also works well for long electric cords. I have seen this in the past and its a wash in cost for a garden hose hanger that I see at the dollar store. Bucket is bigger and you can store stuff … Continue reading

Use a TP-Link for a Arduino ethernet shield
Want wireless ethernet access for your arduino or TI MSP? Use the TP-Link TL-WR703N as written up in the directions in the link below. These sell for around 20-30 dollars, much cheaper than a wireless shield for arduino (50 ish) http://www.martinmelchior.be/2013/07/use-tp-link-tl-wr703n-to-send-arduino.html?m=1 … Continue reading
Pen will tell you if you are spelling wrong
Interesting project where the pen will tell you if you are spelling something wrong (vibrate). I like the idea, not so much the pricetag of $150 each. Its a kickstarter project, so maybe it will come down in price over … Continue reading

How to run SSH with digital keys instead user/password
Nice write-up on how to setup ssh to use public/private keys for authentication. I am mixed on using keys since those could be compromised as well by finding out where they are held and getting them from that machine. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-authenticate-over-ssh-with-keys-instead-of-passwords/
