Xerox guide to Personal and Professional Happiness
I could not stop laughing on this one. Xerox sponsored the article on ways to have a happy personal and professional life. I wonder where they based the article on. http://www.forbes.com/sites/xerox/2013/11/21/5-guides-for-your-path-to-personal-professional-happiness/

Interview with Xerox CTO
Interesting fluff interview with Xerox’s CTO, Sophie Vandebroek. No real good meat to it (similar to the CEO interviews). What was interesting is the reference that the CTO lives in Rochester NY. Last time I checked she was a Bostonian. … Continue reading

If you live in the NE of the US, don’t look at this map
If you live in the North East of the US, or just in NY, you may suffer from depression after looking at this map and seeing how much in property taxes you pay out compared to other states. http://money.cnn.com/interactive/real-estate/property-tax/?iid=EL

Back after a week of cramming for FLL
Sorry for the pause. I was coaching a First Lego League team, that that pretty much ate up all my lunchbreaks for last week. But I am back now. Say tuned…

Pocket Sized Solder Fume Extractor
Nice write-up on another simple and small fume extractor (better than my current solution of a fan). I like the portability bit, but…things I would do differently is give the altoids can a coat of paint, and maybe put something … Continue reading

You Can Now Add Cards To Google Wallet with a Pic
OK this sounds really cool, but makes me very nervous. Its nice that Google Wallet can now use your credit card via a picture of it. And …so could anyone else that has that picture. Yikes… http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/11/you-can-now-add-cards-to-google-wallet-by-taking-their-picture/?utm_source=mainrss

Printing Without a 3D Printer
Good article from Make Mag on how to do a 3D print without a printer. The one thing the author doesn’t mention is the cost can be a bit high. http://makezine.com/magazine/guide-to-3d-printing-2014/printing-without-a-3d-printer/

Handheld Router Only Cuts Where Needed for 3D models
I seem to be on an MIT kick today. This time its a router that has a sensor in it to know when to “cut” when a user is holding it to build a 3D object. This is a … Continue reading

A mini CNC plotter
I have to say I was pretty impressed with this little plotter design. Simple and easy to make. Only downside is the servos used are like $12 a whack. http://hackaday.com/2013/11/21/a-six-part-cnc-machine/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29 http://plotterbot.com/2013/11/how-to-build-a-tiny-cnc-drawing-robot/
