Build a OTP doorlock

This was too funny.  The author wrote a one time password hook for an arduino for a doorlock.  So you could use something like google authenticator to unlock your door. http://dangerousprototypes.com/2013/09/15/one-time-password-otp-doorlock/ http://www.lucadentella.it/en/2013/09/14/serratura-otp/

RPi and GPIO with Python

Nice tutorial on writing code in Python to use Raspberry Pi’s GPIO.  Its interesting to see that there is a trend in hobby market for controlling hardware with Python instead of C/C++. http://makezine.com/projects/tutorial-raspberry-pi-gpio-pins-and-python/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=%24%7Bfeed%7D&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+%24%7Bmakezineonline%7D+%28%24%7BMAKE%7D%29&utm_content=%24%7BGoogleReader%7D

Xerox CEO and Husband donate to FIRST

The CEO of Xerox, Ursula Burns, and her husband, Lloyd Bean, made donation to FIRST Robotics.  No mention on how much thought.  But it was enough to make it news worthy.  Ursula is also on FIRST’s board as well. http://www.azorobotics.com/news.aspx?newsID=5358

Another cheap cooler for the summer

I know, its a little early for thinking about cooling down.  But I could not pass this one up.  Basically the author made a form of a swamp cooler with 3 cans, a cup, and a CPU side cooler fan. … Continue reading
