Xerox to test EBT…wait shouldn’t that have been done before?
Found this amusing, a year after the EBT issue where a hiccup in Xerox servers left to some areas with EBT users having unlimited cash, is going to be tested to make sure those problems are addressed. I would think … Continue reading

Xerox + Medical Services = Not Good Stuff
Texas not only kicked Xerox out for managing medicaid mistakes, they are suing them too. http://www.texastribune.org/2014/05/09/texas-sues-xerox-recover-millions-misspent-money/

SNMP: the next DDoS Attack Vector
Good article. Funny thing I wrote about this as part of my Thesis Project in 2004. https://isc.sans.edu/diary/SNMP%3A+The+next+big+thing+in+DDoS+Attacks%3F/18089

Lego’s with RPi == Bookreader
Clever build with the author (with directions) built a book reader/scanner with legos and an Raspberry PI with RPi camera. This has to be one of the cheapest book scanner options I have seen yet. http://www.instructables.com/id/BrickPi-Bookreader-Digitize-Books-With-Mindstorms-/

Build your own Surviaval SlingShot
Wow, this is overkill for a slingshot, cool, but overkill. The author not only converted it to handle arrows, but added fire-starters, fishing line, flashlight, etc to it. Its a bug-out-bag slingshot (missing arrows thought). http://www.instructables.com/id/The-survival-slingshot/
Build your own simple swamp cooler
I like this build, its a bucket, and insulated bucket, a few pvc pipes, and a fan, and bam. Cooler for your house. Low powered too (the author has the fan attached to a solar). Oh the things “shooting out” … Continue reading
Make a CA wine rack
Nice build for a wine rack, could be easily changed for other states (shapes). Only part that could be a challenge is the Jig the author used to make the holes was a custom one he printed out on his … Continue reading

Xerox buys another company
Xerox buys ISG Holdings, for 225 Million Dollars. I wonder if Xerox is on a buying spree. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/xerox-to-acquire-isg-holdings-inc-expands-workers-compensation-offerings-2014-05-06 http://www.rbj.net/article.asp?aID=208261
