Convert a GRBL with arduino CNC v3 Shield to use a servo for the Z axis
So you built one of the CDROM CNC’s and have a CNCv3 shield instead of a cobbled together setup. The author goes over how to tweak it so you can use a servo in the z axis over a stepper. … Continue reading

A cheap and simple tape dispenser
OK this is going on the build list. I wonder if I could find an IKEA mailbox shelf I could convert….hummm. Either way this is a nice simple way to have a tape station for mulitple different tape types. http://www.instructables.com/id/Central-Tape-Stations/
Nice portable paint booth
I like how the thing has a built in filter system to catch any extra spray. Its a nice build but…well I’ll just go outside. 🙂 http://lifehacker.com/build-a-portable-spray-paint-booth-for-your-workshop-1792061720
Wow this is a fancy skittle sorter
This is a pretty fancy looknig sorter, impressive too (fast as well). Uses 2 atiny’s to control it. Would I build one…no way too much work involved in this build. Still a nice build overall. M&Ms and Skittles Sorting Machine … Continue reading
Make your own beam compass
At first I thought this would be a good idea, til I noticed I could pick one up at Harbor Freight for $5. Given that one is only a foot long. It could be adapted to be longer. I guess … Continue reading
Interesting way to etch with electricity and salt water

Add a cabinet push latch to have build in pushup bench dogs
Too funny, but a clever build to use a push latch to have bench dogs that can be “pushed up”. Me…I just keep a basket of them nearby. http://www.instructables.com/id/2-Pop-Up-Woodworking-Bench-Dogs/?ALLSTEPS
Convert a balloon helium tank into an outdoor fire pit
Good idea, you can get these tanks for $25, and they you are suppose to toss them into the recycling bin. The author just cut it in half and converted it to a fire pit. You could do the same … Continue reading

Hacking printers
A nice article that goes over that hacking printers is alive and well. Most of the tool uses PJL to get into the system. So if you can turn that off, it would be worth it. https://isc.sans.edu/forums/diary/Multiple+vulnerabilities+discovered+in+popular+printer+models/22023/ https://github.com/RUB-NDS/PRET http://hacking-printers.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Using arduinos to modify Amazon Dash
Nice article that has lots of pointers for how to get started with modifying amazon dash buttons. Dash With Arduino https://hackaday.io/project/19351-amazon-dash-button-for-arduino https://github.com/andium/AmazonDRS Nice reverse engineering video here 33C3: Hunz Deconstructs the Amazon Dash Button
