Convert a GRBL with arduino CNC v3 Shield to use a servo for the Z axis

So you built one of the CDROM CNC’s and have a CNCv3 shield instead of a cobbled together setup.  The author goes over how to tweak it so you can use a servo in the z axis over a stepper. … Continue reading

A cheap and simple tape dispenser

OK this is going on the build list.  I wonder if I could find an IKEA mailbox shelf I could convert….hummm.  Either way this is a nice simple way to have a tape station for mulitple different tape types. http://www.instructables.com/id/Central-Tape-Stations/

Nice portable paint booth

Add a cabinet push latch to have build in pushup bench dogs

Too funny, but a clever build to use a push latch to have bench dogs that can be “pushed up”.  Me…I just keep a basket of them nearby. http://www.instructables.com/id/2-Pop-Up-Woodworking-Bench-Dogs/?ALLSTEPS

Hacking printers

A nice article that goes over that hacking printers is alive and well.  Most of the tool uses PJL to get into the system.  So if you can turn that off, it would be worth it. https://isc.sans.edu/forums/diary/Multiple+vulnerabilities+discovered+in+popular+printer+models/22023/ https://github.com/RUB-NDS/PRET http://hacking-printers.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
