Some joker prof in Stanford is saying there is a shortage of engineers and we need to bring more in.
OK in Silicon Valley, there is ALWAYS a shortage, but if those companies started looking around the country, you will find allot of engineers that are un-employed, or gave up and became something else.
My 2 cents, there is a shortage of “cheap” engineers in the US. I have seen it many times already where companies love a seasoned engineer who fits there needs like a glove, but…Won’t hire the person without a 20-30% pay cut.
My opinion, the author has been in college town in SV way too long, wander around the country and you maybe change your tune.
