Great, maybe we should look at retraining what we have first?

I love these articles that talk about the “shortage” in STEM.  I remember a good article that pointed out the claims for “shortage” have been around since the late 1800s.  Anyways the article goes on and one about educating the next gen for computer science. BUT…no mention about re-educating the existing workforce.  What about that out of work cobal or fortran developer?  Maybe convert some C/C++ UNIX devs to Java/Python on linux?  I think the workers are out there.  They just need a company to invest in them for some re-training.
