Most places want more roads. Rochester is removing an inner expressway and converting the space to high end apartment buildings at $1450 6to $4K a month. Where on earth are people moving to Rochester that can afford that kind of rent? Rochester has been losing population and jobs. So it makes sense to remove roads in low use. But add housing? Wouldn’t a better solution to add in some sort of business? The other argument is the road divides the city. So why not turn it into parkland then? Well at least there is short term employment for construction.
